The Center

DEX contributed to the revitalization of The Center—formerly known as CNN Center—by fabricating a cohesive collection of custom concrete furnishings for the open-air atrium in downtown Atlanta. Designed to invite gathering, rest, and movement, the scope included radiused and straight benches, stair treads, and terrazzo planter lids.

The curved and straight benches function as sculptural elements while offering practical, comfortable seating. These pieces were precision-cast in a controlled environment, minimizing material waste and ensuring long-term durability in a high-traffic public setting.

With a clean, luminous DEXterity Snow finish, the furnishings blend with the atrium’s architecture while enhancing visibility and brightness in the open-air space. This project underscores concrete’s potential as a low-maintenance, environmentally responsible solution for active public spaces.
