FINISH

DEXterity Seal (Water Features), DEXterity™ Medium Gray (Treads)

DEX collaborated with renowned designer Clodagh to bring a calm, elemental material presence to the W Hotel Fort Lauderdale. Guided by a holistic approach to wellness and sensory design, the project features a suite of high-performance concrete elements that integrate movement, water, and touch.

At the heart of the space, a three-story indoor water feature anchors the hotel’s lobby and visually connects multiple guest levels, establishing a vertical spine of sound and serenity. Outside, a ribbed concrete water wall at the portico creates a bold, tactile threshold—introducing guests to the project’s material language from the moment they arrive.

DEX also fabricated custom concrete stair treads for both interior and exterior pool areas, offering durable footing with a refined profile that complements the natural palette and spa-like atmosphere.

Highlights:

  • Three-story sculptural indoor water feature
  • Ribbed exterior water wall at hotel entrance
  • Custom treads for poolside and indoor transitions
  • Integration of sensory design principles through concrete materiality

Each piece was cast in high-performance concrete to meet the project’s environmental and experiential goals—bridging aesthetics with function in a hospitality setting where design and mindfulness intersect.
