Full Twist Memorial Bench

Created as a sculptural tribute to architect Carmen P. Stan, the “Full Twist” bench is a permanent installation in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. Designed by Robert M. Cain, FAIA, and custom-cast by DEX in high performance concrete, the bench is a physical reflection of Carmen’s design values—clarity, strength, and elegance.

The form twists gracefully along its length, both a structural and symbolic gesture—fluid in appearance, yet grounded in craftsmanship. Set on a granite pad, it invites quiet contemplation and offers a permanent place to reflect on Carmen’s legacy in the city’s architectural and civic landscape.
